Edward Elms Kendall born 1801

Edward was born about 1801 in High Point, North Carolina. He married Nancy Smith, daughter of Robert Smith, and they had, at least, 12 children who were:

     Isaac Kendall - He was born in 1823 in North Carolina. He married his first wife, Mary Ann Wilson, on 29 Feb 1844 in Fayette Co., Tennessee and married his second wife Sarah ? about 1847. He died in 1892 in Johnson Co., Arkansas.

     Martha Ann Kendall - She was born 14 Dec 1825 in Wilkes Co., North Carolina. She married Hiram Calvin Vinson 19 Nov 1844 in Fayette Co., Tennessee. She died 27 Aug 1885 in Burnsville, Tishamingo Co., Mississippi.

     Robert Smith Kendall - He was born 8 May 1827 in North Carolina. He had four wives. He married Eliza C. Simpson on 21 Dec 1848. He married Mary Ann Taylor on 1 Sep 1859. He also married Millie Travis and Meg Watson, but their marriage dates are unknown.

     Ann Eliza Kendall - She was born 2 Feb 1828 in Henry Co., Tennessee. She married Isaac Crossnoe, Sr. in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi on 30 Sep 1847. She died 16 Jun 1881 in Logan Co., Arkansas.

     Franklin Kendall - He was born in 1830 in Henry Co., Tennessee. He married Rhoda Weaver on 15 Jan 1867 in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. His date of death is unknown.

     Unice (Nicy) Roseann Kendall - She was born about 1832 in Henry Co., Tennessee. She married James Brice on 4 Jul 1848 in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. She died in 1882 in Alcorn, Mississippi.

     Samuel P. Kendall - He was born in 1834 in Henry Co., Tennessee. He married Elizabeth Easley on 11 Mar 1855 in Henry Co., Tennessee. He enlisted in 1861 at Paris, Tennessee. He was a Sargeant with the 5th TN 2nd Co. Infantry. He died of fever at Bardstown, Kentucky on 27 Oct 1862.

     Winser Safronca (Wincey) Kendall - She was born in 1835 in Henry Co., Tennessee. She married her first husband, William A. Petty, on 9 Oct 1851. She married her second husband, S. H. Davis, in Obion Co., Tennessee on 9 Apr 1860. She married her third husband, Daniel W. Short, in Obion Co., Tennessee. She died in 1903.

     Edward E. Kendall (Jr.) - He was born 1 Apr 1837 in Paris, Henry Co., Tennessee. He married Mary Almorna McElyea on 14 Oct 1858 in Obion Co., Tennessee. She died 13 Oct 1906 in Berryville, Carroll Co., Arkansas.

     Archibald Kendall - He was born in 1839 in Henry Co., Tennessee. He was killed by a horse at age 16 in 1855 in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi.

     Amos Gray Kendall - He was born on 22 Apr 1840 in Henry Co., Tennessee. He married Sarah M. (Amanda) Fancher in Carroll Co., Arkansas. He died 9 Mar 1924 in Berryville, Carroll Co., Arkansas.

     Elizabeth (Lydia) Kendall - She was born in 1843 in Henry Co., Tennessee. She had two husbands, ? Defoe and Charles Monroe Pitts, respectively. She died sometime after 1850.

     Sarah Cathryn Kendall - She was born 8 May 1846 in Shiloh, Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. She married Joseph McAbee on 6 Mar 1866 in Troy, Obion Co., Tennessee. She died 4 Jul 1923 in Nampa, Canyon Co., Idaho.

In July 1849 Nancy (Smith) Kendall died of flux in Tishomingo Co., Mississippi. He married Lydia (?) around 1849/50. No children are known from this second marriage.

The Montgomery Co., NC courthouse burned down in 1835 destroying the records strored there. However, in Nov 1848 Robert Smith probated a will that stated, "I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Kendall wife of Elums Kendall the sum of $300 if she is living if not to her children.".

On Apr 5, 1831 a land deed was entered for Edward E. Kendall in Montgomery Co., NC. This deed was for 17.5 acres on the waters of Deep Creek of Long Creek and adjacent to the lands of James Parker, John Parker, and George Crawells.

Edward Elms Kendall died about 1868 in Obion Co., Tennessee.
